There was some walking up and down ash, which was tricky in runners- recommend wearing walking boots. The only issue was that the tour started in Trecastagni, which was tricky to access by public transport, but Fabrizio was extremely accommodating and took us to a nearby village for our bus back as they were being diverted due to a festival.
